Thank you for the projection. They look pretty accurate. That said, IMO this type thinking underlines the flaw in the national duals. With the disarray in the wrestling results all these rankings are suspect. Yet by some arcane rule system a cabal of old guys, like me, will seed an event that many competitors and fans eagerly anticipate. At the end of the event we will coronate the "National Champion" and then start arguing about whether the outcome was fairly achieved or it was due to match-ups, injuries, illnesses or early season unpreparedness.. Sure makes for great discussion but is really meaningless. BTW no slap at you Willy, Just my view how futile the "National Duals" is at deciding who has the best team in the country. A better name would be "The best and luckiest team of the weekend"

After the butt whipping of Cornell do you want to change the Duals line-u? I don't think they belong this year.

Cornell needs to drop. I agree with Itwtlooker. As a team, specially a duel meet tornement, you cannot go around and forfeit weights. I.E Nebraska! My opinion only. If I was a college coach I would only go to the best tournements I could! Duel meets would be an obligation of the conference. That is in general about wrestling overall. Not the great duels of the top teams. But each school makes there own schedule. Shame On the adm., and the schools that drop wrestling, and title 9 that is out to destroy wrestling.

Two things:
#1, directed at willyman, only the top eight teams are seeded, as you were informed on themat.com #2, directed at ltwtlooker, I can add one other commment that you forgot to make, namely the one that Oklahoma State will not be at the event #3, also directed at ltwtlooker, the "cabal of old guys" happens to be the coaches on the ranking committee of the USA Today/Intermat/NWCA Dual Meet poll...between the old guys like you (I'm assuming, after all, you called yourself an old guy), and the youngsters like me, neither of us are on said ranking committee (although I do compile the InterMat Tournament-Strength rankings)

And what difference does that make Seton. They are old boy network or not? Yes i am an old guy! After tonight your comment on OKie St. is even more germane and my assessment of the validity of the tournament is even more valid. That cabal gave us Cornell and Iowa ranked #1. I think at this level you try your best to pick the top 16 and then draw slugs. Too much politics in rankings and you know it.

ltwt-I'm not disagreeing with you, FYI, on anything you have said in this thread, other than making the point that the people who seed the Cliff Keen National Duals are people that know their wrestling quite well (I would bet, not knowing which specific coaches are on said ranking committee, that every single one of them has forgotten more about wrestling than I will ever know)...That being said, I will pick on myself for not knowing how to count to three...

O. C. general says; #1 Penn State, #8 Missouri--- #4 Minnesota, #6 Michigan--- #3 Iowa State, #5 Central Michigan--- #2 Iowa, #7 Nebraska. Now you can argue the other places. If they only seed to 8 then this is his call.

if that is how it goes, I wouldn't be surprised to see Iowa get upset again. If Nebraska brings their starters, they are a tough draw.

JFS...the seeds themselves look good. The only thing is that the pairing would have the 4/5's meeting and the 3/6's meeting in the quarters. Minnesota/Central Michigan and Iowa State/Michigan going by these.
And I've thought from day one this year that if Nebraska has all their possible starters they will be upsetting people.
