How can the seeds look good if the ranking is in dispute? When it comes to duals meets, I don't buy the old saw that"to win 1st place you need to beat the best". We all know that in duals match-ups are everything. Therefore the seeding has a terrific impact on the finish. This year is probably the best example of the impact guesswork has in the system, where their is no clear order for the top 8. Parity is the word this year. This is the coaches season. The best coaches will win the individual duals. Then the best wrestlers will win the NCAAs. At which point we will know very little more than who was good that weekend. At this high level drawing slugs gets the politics out of it. BTW, I am not indicating bias or dishonesty. Rather I am advocating the Caesar's wife model. Yes those guys also know more about wrestling than I do. This does not make them good judges of teams they haven't even seen. Check out the composition of the group. It is also possible, as you mentioned, that at some of their ages, they have forgotten more about wrestling than you. Go to NCAA wrestling site to see who you are talking about., Some of those guys wrestled naked covered with grease. I know, I was watching them at the Palestra.... and i don't mean Philadelphia

Earl, I agree about Nebraska. They are a sleeper. They got a good draw, if they bring their A game. Would love to make a long shot bet on that one! As far as the seeds are concerned I wrote them as the General wrote them. The Old Coach ( 79 yrs.) did not do to bad on the call. He never ceases to amaze me. ( I.E. the Iowa and Oklahoma St. Dual ) . This should be a great tournement. The General will be there, bad eyes and all. UNI is where he went to school and wrestled.

enough about seeding, who is everyone's prediction to win the national duals, and will anyone be attending?

Nebraska is untested and an unknown at best. They haven't wrestled anyone in the top 10 except Minny and lost that one. Can they win, maybe, but I don't see them winning it all.
My best guess is Iowa or Minnesota! But the hawks will surely have to step it up a couple notches from their effort last weekend. They looked flat and uninspired against OSU, except for Metcalf and Keddy! But if the Hawks are back in the saddle everyone better look out!

Okay, I'll take Nebraska as the upset winner of the whole enchilada. The chic picks are left for everyone else.

Nebraska did real well. Of course people said Nebraska is unknown. Well the huskers jumped up real well. But, Iowa is like a machine from space. I congratulate Iowa, and I say well done. You Are in conditon well beyond the rest of the pack.
