I am looking forward to all of these duals with the most anticipation towards the Hofstra dual. There will be tough match ups in each dual, and will give us an idea where we stand early in the year.

I am also very interested to see how Brandon Mason does this weekend. He has been absolutely dominate. Is it because of weak competition or because he has grown into the weight. I personally think he has grown into the weight and will win it all this yr. You heard it here first. Everybody talks about how vital your workout partner is, well he is wrestling a 4 time AA (Tyrone Lewis) and a time champ (Chris Pendleton) every other day. He also looks huge compared to last year. Only time will tell. Good luck to all the competitors. Go Pokes!

yankeekev - I liked Mason a lot in high school. Early in his HS career he sort of took a back seat to the Paulson twins, who were getting a lot more attention. I've only seen him wrestle in person 4 times in college so this observation may not be valid - in those matches his stamina wasn't where it could have been. If he can build up his endurance when tournament time rolls around, I agree, he could be the NCAA champ.

gg, I would attribute the stamina thing to the fact that he was a 165 going at 174. With Hendricks there he had to go up or sit. It took him a couple of yrs but I think he now looks like a true 174 lber. When he wrestled Jack Jensen in the Orange Black match he looked bigger than Jack. He certainly hasn't run out of juice this yr hence my over eagerness to see how this weekend turns out.

Hawkeye season tickets came Wednesday. I'll see Mason and the rest of the Cowboys Jan. 5th in Carver and the following week in Cedar Falls.

That is always a good one. this yr i think we match up with Minny in a dual better than Iowa. the wild card is 125 w/ Shinn...can he make it down to 125 and not lose any enegy. He looks huge for 133 let alone 125. He also looked very comfortable at 133 giving Coleman all he wanted and then some. If he can keep that kind of energy at 125 he should be a better match for charlie this yr. if he can't we'll need an upset at 184 and Hvy or we will go down in flames.
