There have been some changes made to Hofstra's lineup. Alton Lucas will return to the lineup at 174, not 184 as was previously speculated. 174 is very open, so if Lucas is more consistent he has a serious shot at becoming an All-American.
As for 184 three freshman have a shot at starting at 184. Justin Danz of California, Jeff Siciliano of New Jersey and Lawrence Beckman of Pennsylvania will be in contention for the positition.

The CAA's preseason rankings have been posted, as well as the All-Freshman team. They can be found under the news section of the site.

HofstraFan, I'm at the point with the CAA rankings that I think during the preseason that the coaches should only have a team-ranking vote. I think it would make more sense to wait until late November to do individual rankings (and rank freshmen), and, at that time, only include guys who are competing.
Eddie Bordas was included in the CAA individual rankings, but is not eligible under CAA transfer rules to compete until after the fall semester. Why include someone in the preseason vote who is not cleared to compete first semester? Also, the CAA apparently does not have guidelines on inclusion of likely redshirts in the preseason vote. Perhaps it would be fair to the fans in the CAA preseason vote for coaches only to include who they plan to have competing fall semester.
It's up to the CAA's wrestling decision-makers to decide whether they want to continue or change their current guidelines for future CAA ranking votes.
Yes, simply put, I assume CAA fans are taking this year's preseason vote with a grain of salt. -Stove Pipe

157- there is a good chance that Jon Bonilla bowman will not be the starter come this season, he has to contend with Anothony Tortora who has been beating him in workouts from what I hear. He is a tough lanky kid who has been wrestling in that room for the last 2 years which will benefit him greatly when he faces off bowman for the spot. kinda odd to have a top 20 kid in teh country riding on the bench, but it looks like its gonna happen

^^^jjgrad, I hear you. My Hofstra "flying under the radar" pick (see other string on this Forum) is Tortora. From what I've been told, Nicaragua-born JBB is his own man, marching to his own drummer. I frankly am hoping JBB does very, very well (I am a Shifflet Fan), but am unclear how good of a Div I career JBB will have. -Stove Pipe

Completely agree with you stovepipe, on ranking only those that dont redshirt and also on the fact that Tortora could very well be a sleeper.
