I didn't do mine with that point system. I will from now on...doing it that way I get something similar to what the other two have for a top 10.

Actually this is a very stupid way to look at the teams........
First, every team has "new" faces that must be considered, not just who is a returning AA. Second, This is dual meet season NOT tourney time, thus we must rank teams on Dual strength.
I suggest that if your going to do any quality "rating" system, take the time to evalual"NEW" faces on the teams and then rate them. Seems to me that makes a truer rating system at this stage of the season.
Evaluate "Who" is wrestling at what weights, "Who" is on the current rooster, and "What" impact the "New" lineup will have in the new season. Please give this some thought and maybe, just maybe you can have a rating system that is Not only more accurate, but unlike everyone elses!

I think at this time of year everyone is very cautious about ranking new faces. I think that I have put more of them in, than those other publications, but I haven't compared. It's hard to put a guy who's went out a made the NCAA tournament below a guy who was very good in high school. Obviously, this affects a team like Iowa who is depending on their points from Slaton (possibly), Metcalf, Borschel, and Beatty (possibly).
Another month or so and actual matches are wrestled these things will be easier to sort out.

willyman-Which is exactly why I don't bother with my own ranking of wrestlers, just using other projections to come up with more true "tournament-strength" rankings than the actual rankings that claim to be based on "tournament strength" (WIN Magazine, I'm talking to you).
FYI, it likely won't be until after the start of 2008 (likely after National/Virginia Duals weekend) that I start releasing the computer dual-meet rankings to Intermat (I'm responsible for the RPI and ISR data, FYI), as any truly-objective ranking without any sort of interconnectivity between the teams in the ranking is simply nonsense.
