2013-14 D1CW EIWA Wrestler of the Year: Nahshon Garrett (Cornell) The Big Red's 125lber Nahshon Garrett improved upon his third place finish as a Freshman by reaching the NCAA Finals in his Sophomore season. Garrett's only two losses on the year came to his NCAA Finals opponent Jesse Delgado. He also captured his second EIWA Championship in as many tries. Over his first two seasons Nahshon Garrett has racked up a record of 76-6.
2013-14 D1CW EIWA Coach of the Year: Rob Koll (Cornell) Cornell entered the 2013-14 season looking to replace NCAA All-Time Great Kyle Dake and NCAA Champ Steve Bosak. Despite the losses and four Freshman in the starting lineup, Coach Koll's crew still managed to finish in the top 7 at NCAA's. Two of the Freshman, Gabe Dean and Brian Realbuto, earned All-American honors while the other two, Mark Grey and Dylan Palacio made it to the NCAA Round of 12. In EIWA Action, Cornell won its eighth straight conference title and crowned four individual champions.
2013-14 D1CW EIWA Freshman of the Year: Gabe Dean (Cornell) One of the biggest shockers, in a season full of shocking upsets, was Cornell Freshman Gabe Dean's upset of then 2x NCAA Champ Ed Ruth of Penn State. Dean was able to prove he was no fluke as he won his next eighteen matches before falling to Ruth in the NCAA Semi-Finals. The Freshman then regrouped and took 3rd Place. The only three losses that Gabe Dean suffered on the season came at the hands of the eventual NCAA Finalists (Ruth and Jimmy Sheptock).
