Argueably Ben Askren was the most exciting wrestler in the country last season. He has graduated so who takes his place this year? My opinion is Josh Glenn.
Josh Glenn is the kind of wrestler that can scare the cr*p out of a coach or a fan. He gets into some weird scrambles that sometimes make him vonerable to being pinned. He almost always comes out of them on top in scrambles, but like in his match against Backes in the finals last year and against the Cleveland State wrestler the year before, he does make your heart skip a beat. IMHO, he will be the most exciting wrestler to watch this season. Frankly, I think he will either lead the country in pins and repeat as National Champion or lose a match at Nationals by forcing something and getting pinned himself. I hope it is the former. He is the kind of wrestler that wants to do something amazing (Pin EVERYONE he wrestles) or lose in the attempt. That is what makes him the most exciting wrestler (IMHO) in the country. Coach Cody reigned him in last year to set his goal on being National Champion not "wrestler with the most pins". But, in this his senior season, I expect him to want to make a statement so people remember the name, Josh Glenn.

I like the choice of Glenn. He gets extra credit in my book for keeping his style while wrestling at 197. Others I'll throw out....
Mark Perry. The guy won his two biggest matches to date (Hendricks, Letters) by getting back points. I just rewatched his quarter match this year with Penn, alot of scrambling and legriding going on.
Ryan Lang. The match with Caldwell last year was classic. He was down and hit the two mixers to get the pin. Unreal.
Sort of a wild card...Ryan Hluschak-Drexel. He had some battles at Nationals last year, scoring 10 or more points in 3 different matches. His second round match with eventual champ Trent Paulson was a barnburner, lots of big throw attempts.

Speaking of Caldwell...He is so funky and fun to watch. If i could watch one guy wrestle that is left after askren leaving, it'd probably be him. I look for him to place high this year.
Craig Henning is another one. He can get out of some super tough situations with his funk and really could have(and should have in my opinion) been the national champ this year, and i hope he is.

Any one have a link to a clip of the Lang/Caldwell match? Have heard great things about it. i was enroute to Nationals when it happened. i actually was at a PIAA basketball game which was the only place where i could get picked up for the ride to Detroit. I actually got a text message from a wrestler that i coach that was there when Gregor beat Schlatter and was the only one in my section on his feet cheering. Funny how i didnt give a @#$, d**n basketball!

I've rewatched it on Youtube. I have to agree Lang/Caldwell was about as exciting as you can get for about 1min and 40 seconds. It was an amazing moment the entire place stood up to clap for the effort of both guys.
