Ok so I just watched it.
A few comments. Brent Metcalf could very well win an NCAA title this year. He could win 3. He may the one of the best pound for pound wrestlers in the nation.
That being said there is no way in hell, he could do that to a healthy Bubba. He looked totally done so quickly, its not funny. I've watched Bubba many times and that is NOT a healthy Bubba.
Metcalf may beat Bubba everytime they meet but he is not that much better than Bubba.

Earl,
I was there and Bubba just flat QUIT! Even his own coaches were so pissed off at him they refused to have anything to do with him as he came off the mat and Long long after the meet was over! Bubba came off the mat and laid flat on the floor totally motionless for over 30 minutes! He wasn't sick, or injured he was totally defeated, humiliated and broken!
Metcalf had been waiting for him all season!

Hmmm...cat got your tongue Earl? I know, it's hard to know what to say... I mean when you put a post out there that is pleasantly rational, you might expect a response that has been toned down somewhat, or at least attempts to discuss the issue on a level that a bit less, well obsessive. Your post was an obvious attempt to bring this match thing onto a level that might make some sense, and that might even encourage an attitude that isn't so rabidly Metcalf/Iowa. So what's the lesson? Don't step into the maniacal zone. I mean nothing could quite compare to Bubba just flat out quitting, laying there, totally humiliated! If you were a frenzied Metcalf fan, perhaps you would understand this! And to hell with Bubba being sick! What could that matter when he laid there for a half hour, while his coaches ignore him in disgust?
Sounds like someone else has been waiting for this match all year as well....I am curious: is this a worship thing with Metcalf, or a hatred of Bubba? I mean what could explain it other wise? Adjust your thinking Earl. Cross the line. Enter the 'what the hell kind of thinking is this' zone....
