Ok so this will be a monster of a weight class, and that doen't even include the talent in the other conferences. Who do you guys like? In no particular order......
Iowa-Brent Metcalf 4x MI state champ, Undefeated in HS, Owns a controversial win over Schlatter in HS, going on three years under Brands
Ohio State-Lance Palmer 4x OH State champ, Placed fourth in the nation as a true freshman
Minnesota-Dustin Schlatter 4x OH State Champ, 2006 NCAA champ as true frosh, 2007 NCAA 3rd place
Illinois-Sean Reynolds 2x Ill State Champ, Redshirt freshman thought highly of by ILL.
Indiana-Kurt Kinser Talented redshirt freshman, will win matches nationwide but may take lumps in conference
Penn State-Bubba Jenkins Qualified for NCAA tourney as a true freshman up a weight, recently won junior world freestyle.
Michigan-Josh Churella 2x All-American, 2007 NCAA runner-up
Northwestern-Ryan Lang (possibly) 2x All-American, 2007 NCAA runner-up....or Keith Sulzer, talented freshman probably wrestling up a weight though
Michigan State-Eddie Skowneski will have his hands full.
Wisconsin-Trevor Bowers solid guy but not AA-type
Purdue-Jake Patacsil talented, underrated guy. Midlands finalist in 2006. Could pull an upset or two. NCAA qualifier in 2007
By the way, fun fact.....The 2006 NHSCA Sr. National Champs at 135-152 will all be in the 149lb class nationally (Jordan Burroughs, Lance Palmer, Bubba Jenkins, Adam Hall).

Brent Metcalf will have to prove himself in the conf. but will do that soon enough.
for now: 1. Schlatter 2. Churella 3. Jenkins 4. Metcalf

Can you say STACKED? I'd bump up! I'm ready for Metcalf to do his thing. Schlatter is tough, but people might be catching on to him. but i'd have to agree with those rankings

Jenkins got worked over pretty good by Morningstar last year. No way he is above Metcalf who can handle M* from inside accounts.

I agree factory - my only reasoning is that Brent hasn't wrestled in the conf. yet.

I won't go out on a limb and pick Bubba here but I will say that he showed alot last year. He bumped up a weight as a true freshman in the Big 10. I think that Metcalf and Schlatter both would have taken their fair share of lumps had they done the same. He also is not a guy who is a freestyle/greco specialist. In fact, he didn't place as a high schooler in junior national freestyle, yet won worlds.
I believe that he is one of the few guys who's style allows them to possibly beat Schlatter. Anyone who is too defensive and is not creative with their offense will lose those 3-1 grinders to Schlatter. Bubba, Gillespie, Metcalf, and maybe Lang if he's at 149 are the exceptions.
