Here's a new interview with the #1 ranked 157 in the nation Mike Poeta. I look forward to seeing how that weight plays out at the NCAA's w/ Poeta, Gillespie, Henning, Schlatter, Sanderson among others.. www.d1collegewrestling.net/Special_Poeta.html

Poeta knew that he could beat both Henning and Gillespie going into the vegas tourney? I guess since he had wrestled Henning, and obviously had a good feel for his wrestling style both because of this and most likely studying him on film, he could, without seeming arrogant, feel comfortable about beating him. But to my knowledge, he had no previous experience with Gillespie, and making such a statement smacks of arrogance, since the match in no way revealed that such confidence was deserved. I'd say, when you beat someone convincingly, you can state that you go into tournaments or matches knowing you can beat him. But when when you haven't beat someone in a prior match, and the outcome of the match you did wrestle with him is so precariously balanced, making such a statement certainly does nothing to enhance your image beyond the mat.

you are over reacting casper. Saying that you know you can beat someone is not offensive or arrogant. Saying that you know you WILL beat someone is. He said he knew he could, no big deal what so ever.
