Was not aware of the additions for next year. How/why is this coming about? Gannon & Mercyhurst are not state schools.

^^^The PSAC decision-makers were looking to expand, from what I was told, to increase the PSAC participation in certain women's sports. Gannon and Mercyhurst fit the bill and were invited to join and accepted the invite.

The increase in PSAC membership was not wrestling driven, from what I was told, but I'll take the addition of Mercyhurst and Gannon as a WIN. -Stove Pipe

P.S. By the way, the date change of the PSAC Tournament from January to early December, from what I was told, was Div II driven. The PSAC's are a Div II (owned and controlled) conference, and emphasis of their six - national attention-getting! - NCAA Div I wrestling programs does not seem to be one of their concerns/goals. -Stove Pipe

Possibly seeing UPJ entering into this fray?

Definitely a WIN. Any exposure that can be garnerd by any wrestling program is a good thing regardless of div. Mercyhurst & Gannon will & UPJ could, if invited, certainly bring some good kids to the competition.

^^^Chickenwinger, I don't speak for the PSAC, but again will note that PSAC expansion apparently has been aimed at helping increase the Conference's Div II women's sports' status and is NOT about wrestling. I am quite certain that the PSAC never asked UPJ to consider PSAC membership.

I'm not going to post much more on the subject of PSAC-expansion, but you catch my drift that the PSAC decision-makers do NOT seem to have much interest in wrestling. -Stove Pipe
