This dual started at 141 lbs and Wyoming's Carter Downing was not in the lineup. Here's how it went:
141 lbs. Levi Jones (BSU) won by Maj. Dec 19-7 over Cole Dallaserra (WY) - It was 5-3 Jones after the 2nd period and then Levi Jones put on a takedown clinic. Jones got five takedowns and one 3 pt near fall in the third period - plus riding time - for the 19-7 win. Dallaserra had one takedown and five points for escapes that were given to him by Jones. Round by round the score was 3-3, 5-3, 19-7.
149 lbs. Adam Hall (BSU) won by Maj. Dec. 14-5 over Cody Chipperfield (WY). Hall scored two takedowns in the first period and gave up on escape to lead 4-1 in the first. Chipperfield got an escape in the second period and that was the only score. It was 4-2 after two. Hall got 4 takedowns and an escape in the 3rd and he gave Chipperfield three escapes for the final score of 14-5.
157 lbs. Tyler Sherfey (BSU) won by Tech. Fall (16-1) over Clay Sondgeroth (WY) - The match was halted halfway thru the 2nd period. The score was 10-1 after the first period. Sherfey scored 2 takedowns and got two 3 pt near falls in the first and gave up one escape. In the 2nd period Sherfey chose down - quickly got an escape - then he took Sondgeroth down again and got another 3 pt near fall for the technical fall.
165 lbs. Kurt Swartz (BSU) won by Maj. Dec. 18-5 over Dane Fuhrman (WY). The score was only 2-0 after the first period with Swartz getting one takedown. It was 10-1 after the 2nd period. Swartz scored a takedown and then got a 3 pt near fall, gave up an escape, scored another takedown, and was given one point for stalling by Fuhrman. Swartz chose down in the third period - got an escape - and then got three takedowns in the third period and gave up three escapes for the final score of 18-5.
174 lbs. Eric Coxbill (WY) won by Dec. over Tyler Roshau (BSU). The score was 4-1 Coxbill after the first period. Coxbill got two takedowns in that first period and Roshau got one escape. Coxbill chose down in the 2nd and got an escape and that was the only score in the 2nd period so it was 5-1 Coxbill after two. Roshau chose down in the 3rd and got an escape and that, again, was the only scoring in that round. Coxbill got the riding time point to win it 6-2.
184 lbs. Matt Casperson (BSU) won by FALL (3:51) over Dan Barrone (WY). Matt scored two takedowns and got a 3 pt near fall and gave up one escape in the first period to lead it 7-1 after the first period. Casperson chose neutral in the 2nd period and quickly got another takedown - put Barrone on his back and got the pin. He very nearly had Barrone pinned in the first period as well.
197 lbs. Ryan Allen (BSU) won by Dec. 10-5 over Colt Reese (WY). Ryan scored the first takedown of the match after a very lengthy exchange. Then Ryan got a 2 pt near fall. Reese then got a reversal and Allen re-reversed him to lead it 6-2 after the first period. Reese chose down in the 2nd period. Allen got a reversal and Reese got another reversal. Somehow in all that Reese got an escape point but I'm not sure how. After two the score was 8-5. Allen chose down in the third and scored another reversal to win it 10-5.
285 lbs. Nick Smith (BSU) won by Dec. 4-1 over Jason Still (WY). Smith scored the first points of the match with a thundering takedown (slam) in the first period. That was the only score in the first period so it was 2-0 Smith after one. In the 2nd Smith chose down and got an escape and that was the only score of that period so Smith led 3-0 after two. Still chose down in the 3rd and got an escape. Smith got riding time to win it 4-1.
125 lbs. Alan Bartelli (BSU) won by FALL (4:02) over Cody Grant (WY). Bartelli scored the first takedown of the match and Bartelli had Grant on his back and very nearly pinned (for a 3 pt near fall) but Grant wriggled out of it and got a reversal on Bartelli. Then Bartelli escaped to lead it 6-2 after one. In the 2nd period Bartelli once again put Grant on his back and got the fall at 4:02.
133 lbs. Cory Fish (BSU) won by Dec. 10-4 over Cory VomBaur (WY). VomBaur led this match early thanks to two ridiculous calls by the ref. I know I'm biased in favor of Boise State but trust me when I say the ref just blew it and gave VomBaur a takedown when he clearly did not have control and then gave him another 2 pts for a near fall that was iffy at best. Fish got a reversal in the first period and trailed 4-2 after one. Those first period "gift" points that VomBaur got were the only points that Fish allowed. In the 2nd Fish chose down - got an escape - then got a takedown and led it 5-4 after two. In the third period I think VomBaur chose neutral and Fish got another takedown and a 2 pt near fall plus riding time to win it going away 10-4, i.e., Fish trailed 4-2 after one period and then reeled off 8 straight points without giving up any to VomBaur.
FINAL TEAM SCORE - Boise State 38 - Wyoming 3
P.S. I saw Nate Lee (BSU's starter at 174 lbs) at this match and he looked very healthy to me. Hopefully he will be back in the lineup for Boise State soon (next event for BSU is the Southern Scuffle on Dec. 28th and Dec. 29th)

Chipperfield got an escape in the second period and that was the only score. It was 4-2 after two. Hall got 4 takedowns and an escape in the 3rd and he gave Chipperfield three escapes for the final score of 14-5.
