First let me say I appreciate the effort that must go into preparing these rankings for each conference. I'm sure it must be a lot of work to do this.
That being said tho (ya just KNEW that was coming right? LOL) there are a few things that are incorrect on the PAC 10 rankings. This is simply meant as constructive criticism so please don't take it as anything more than that.
# 1. Ryan Dunn of Oregon is not at 125 lbs this season. He has been competing this season at 133 lbs. Beau Malia was starting for Oregon at 125 lbs but he has been injured for a while now. No idea when he will return but Oregon has been forfeiting at 125 lbs because they have nobody other than Malia at 125 lbs this season.
# 2. Chris Platt for Oregon State is not the starter for them at 174 lbs. In fact he's not even at 174 lbs. He is Oregon State's second string guy at 184 lbs. Platt lost 6-5 to Kyle Bressler in the Oregon State wrestle-offs at 184 lbs. The starter for Oregon State at 174 lbs has been both Neal Beaudry (SR) and Ben Harris (JR). Beaudry defeated Harris (by one point I think) in the Oregon State wrestle-offs, however, Harris defeated Beaudry later on when they faced each other in a tournament. They have been splitting time as the starter at 174 lbs.
# 3. This is just a personal opinion of mine so please feel free to ignore it if you wish - but - I think you have Yuri Kalika of Cal Poly ranked waaaaaayyyyyyyyy too high at 184 lbs. I say that for the following reasons A. Kalika was beaten by Ian Murphy of CS Fullerton by Majority Decision (8-0) in the dual between CSF and Cal Poly. Kalika was also beaten 5-0 by Riley Orozco of CS Bakersfield at the Fullerton Open tournament (and Orozco is ranked something like 7th in these PAC 10 rankings?) Kalika was also beaten 2-1 by Tim Hawkins of CS Fullerton at the Fullerton Open tournament and Hawkins is a reserve for CS Fullerton, i.e., not a starter. The ONLY PAC 10 wrestler that Kalika has beaten this season is Portland State's Jacob Antoine (13-3).
I think you pretty much nailed it at 125 lbs other than having Ryan Dunn of Oregon at 125 lbs (should be Beau Malia). And also at 133 lbs - nothing wrong at all with those rankings IMO. Same for 141 lbs, however, I personally would have Einerson of Portland State ranked ahead of both Kim and Tracy...but oh well. 149 lbs is also pretty much right on the nail as well. The only thing I'd change would be to have Henry Kofa of Portland State ranked a little higher (He gave Kyle Larson a very good match). At 157 lbs we disagree on who should be ranked # 1. I think Sherfey should be # 1 - placed 5th at Vegas and the last time Sherfey wrestled Pami Sherfey pinned Pami (at the 2007 PAC 10 tournament). 165 lbs is also pretty much right on the money IMO. 174 lbs, other than having Chris Platt named in there this is also pretty much right on.
184 lbs is where there are a few things we would definitely disagree on. I'd have 184 lbs ranked as follows:
1. Ian Murphy
2. Brent Chriswell
3. Zach Giesen
4. Kyle Bressler
5. Matt Casperson
6. Riley Orozco
7. Brysen French (French lost to Bressler twice last season)
8. Yuri Kalika (Kalika lost to French twice last season)
9. Abraham Otrambo
10. Jacob Antoine
The only other ranking I would disagree with (at 197 and 285 lbs) is having Charlie Alexander ranked # 6 at 285 lbs. I think (could be wrong) that Alexander has an 11-1 record so far this season and his only loss was to the top 20 ranked guy from Northern Colorado (Reese??).
