Bedlam Dual at Oklahoma State
125-Ben Ashmore dec Joey Fio 3-0 (OSU) 133-Coleman Scott maj Brian Shelton 7-0 (OSU) 141-Nathan Morgan dec Zach Bailey 10-0 (OSU) 149-Will Rowe maj Quentin Fuetnes 10-4 (OSU) 157-Newly McSpadden dec Chad Terry 13-4 (OSU) 165-Jake Dieffenbach dec Max Dean 16-4 (OSU) 174-Brandon Mason dec Jeff James 19-4 (OSU) 184-Cody Hill dec Josh Weitzel 22-4 (OSU) 197-Joel Flaggert dec Clayton Foster 22-7 (OSU) 285-Jared Rosholt dec Nathan Fernandez 25-7
165 and 184 should be pretty even, could go either way. Also, Flaggert should provide a good indication of where Foster is at, at this point in the season.
Iowa St/Minnesota
125-Jayson Ness maj Mark Kist 4-0 (UM) 133-Nick Fanthorpe dec Mack Reiter 4-3 (UM)...just a hunch 141-Manny Rivera dec Nick Gallick 7-3 (UM) 149-Dustin Schlatter dec Mitch Mueller 10-3 (UM) 157-CP Schlatter dec Cyler Sanderson 13-3 (UM) 165-Jon Reader dec Scott Glasser 13-6 (UM) 174-Gabe Dretsch dec Aron Scott 16-6 (UM) 184-Jake Varner dec Roger Kish 16-9 (UM) 197-David Bertolino dec Brent Eidenschink 16-12 (UM) 285-David Zabriskie fall Joe Nord 18-16 (ISU)
I think ISU can pull the upset with the victory from Fanthorpe and a pin at heavy. Also 157 is a bout I think can go either way. 184 is interesting considering the little exchange Varner and Kish had at the end of their All-Star match.

Half of OU's wrestlers didn't take a shot in the 1st period. Weitzel won the match by riding out the 3rd period. Impressive ride but he never took a shot the whole match. How is that not stalling? Hill had a takedown on the edge they didn't give him as well. I just don't understand how the refs can continue to reward this style of wrestling. Coleman pressed the action in the 1st, but I would have stalled both out in the 2nd and 3rd periods. Jake got the win but wrestled very cautiously, this one could go either way in a rematch. Flaggart got hurt again, I predict he won't AA this yr. He just has horrible luck with injuries. He has all the tools to win it all, I just have a feeling he won't. Rowe very agressive but got put on his back at the end, he could make some noise at this weight if he can maintain it. Jeff James has an incredible build to be so young, Brandon is still a killer on top. I would chose top if I were him because everyone he wrestles just choses neutral. He got his takedowns late in 2nd and 3rd periods, but was brutal while he was up there. Jared needs to develop some offensive moves, very quick and tough to score on. Nathan pressed most of the action in this match. Ben is slick and will do well against anybody close to his size, but he looks small for the weight. Nathan may be the best on his feet in the country. Unbelievable finisher of shots. He outshot Bailey 11-1 during the match, again where is the stalling calls. Spates knows how to teach counter wrestling, he needs to hire an asst. that can teach em how to score on their own. The Sooners were very boring to watch with the exception of Rowe.
