Darrion should move up to the #2 ranking now that he has packed Brent Metcalf in the first period. Metcalf was overhyped, has not achieved anything in college, and can't compete with a true stud like Darrion. Will be interesting to see Darrion and Schlatter in the finals at the nationals in March.

Does anybody have that video, or know where i can see new videos other than flowrestling? Being a wrestling fan sadly means you have to look high and low to catch a clip of something new actually happening.

Darrion Caldwell is an exciting wrestler, without question. Having watched him and Lang in the nationals quarters last year, it was obvious that anyone wanting to survive the lst period needs to bring impeccable finishes. Metcalf, however, will compete with him again, you can be more than sure of that. Perhaps he is overhyped, but that makes him no less of a competitor. Darrion is a huge first period wrestler. Taking that into the third period with as much zest may be somewhat difficult, and Metcalf thrives throughout the match. Schlatter is another story. I really don't see the thrilling moves of Caldwell having much effect on him. It also is the beginning of the season. As any longtime observer realizes, things change during the course of the season, and most especially during the national tournament.

Caldwell is quickly becoming my new favorite wrestler, not because he beat Metcalf, but because he wrestles. No stalling here. Reminds me of Espo. Every match he goes for it. Metcalf is not over hyped, he is a stud. Most d1 wrestlers are studs. Just because you lose doesn't change a thing. Pat Smith lost a match or two, but that didn't change the fact that he was a stud. I just love the willingness and ability to go for it and finish. I look forward to finally being able to see Metcalf as he kind of has the same reputation as being willing to go for it all match long.
