^^^Yes, Troy Nickerson being out this season hurts both Cornell and the EIWA. The EIWA teams scored a total of 245.0 points at the 2006 NCAA Tournament, and dropped down to a 196.5 total for the 2007 NCAA's. At the 2007 NCAA Tournament, no EIWA team cracked the top 10 (Cornell was 12th). Might be no EIWA team will make the top 10 again this season. We shall see, -Stove Pipe

How many folks need to get to semis to crack top 10 at NCAAs in a normal year. Also how many winners makes you a lock to win it irrespective of pins? Thank you

That is a good question. I would think 2 or 3 but normally teams that have that many in the semis also have a few guys in consolations which also helps boost team score. Last year the #10 team had 54 points with 4 AAs placing 7th, 4th, 6th, and 7th. but Cornell had 4 and did not make the top 10. They had a 3rd, 8th, 6th, and 8th so it appears as though TOSU's two 7ths trumped Cornell's two 8ths and was strong enough to overcome their 3rd. Ironically Edinboro only had 3 AAs but placed 9th. They did have a champ though.
