Cole taking 5th this weekend proves he is not worthy of being called anything but over rated!!!!!!!!!! He lost to Velasquez which would have altered his resume, he locked hands on Mocco which would have also altered his resume. The competition he lost to is not that impressive. Congrats to Steve for taking care of business. Go Pokes and ex Pokes!

So over rated he beat the pumpkin like 4 times his junior year including once by fall... So overrated half of his opponents forfeited rather then wrestle him and most of the other half got pinned or majored... Keep dreaming buddy.

So overrated half of his opponents forfeited rather then wrestle him and most of the other half got pinned or majored... Keep dreaming buddy. Half of his opponents forfeited? I count seven... Arizona State, 1/2/07 Cornell, 1/13/07 (Cliff Keen National Duals) Iowa State, 1/14/07 (Cliff Keen National Duals) Purdue, 1/28/07 Nebraska, 2/11/07 Iowa, 2/18/07 Casey White, Michigan, 3/3/07 (Big Ten Tournament Pigtail) Edited to add: 7/35=20%, or one-fifth That being said, he did have 13 other pins, a tech-fall, and six majors. When you can count his three-point decisions on both hands and still have both thumbs left over, that's pretty impressive. (BTW, that shortlist includes Aaron Anspach, Matt Fields, Bubba Gritter, Spencer Nadolsky, Jared Rosholt-twice, Ty Watterson, and Paul Weibel)

He was a big boy, I'll grant you that. With that being said, I stand by the fact that without some horrible calls he would have had zero championships.

The weight class was weak.......Tom Erickson would have pinned him 9 out of 10 times.

He had three wins that were by less then four points... 6 of his 17 dual meet opponents forfeited to him so approximately 1/3 werent even willing to wrestle him...
You can argue how he stacks up against other greats if you want but to call him anything other then a great wrestler is simply trolling. He was a four time AA 3 time finalist and two time champ with one of the most dominant senior seasons ever. Sure the weight class was weak last year but the year before that he beat the two time defending champ and four time finalist four times in a row.
He obviously proved he was superior to your beloved oklahoma state boy and he's consistantly placed higher then mocco in the freestyle ladder as well. He has one bad tournament and you write him off as overrated? Please... go troll somewhere else.
