Interesting development at Sunkist Open

Alex Tsirtis is entered this weekend at 132# Freestyle bracket.

How is this interesting?

A) He has NEVER wrestled that weight before during his college years.

B) Iowa wrestlers have NEVER entered pre seaason meets before. EVER!

C) This gives more creedence to the inside info I was given three months ago......... He is being RED SHIRTED or perhaps will be wresting at 133# this season, which I doubt!

The next couple weeks will be interesting in Iowa City with wrestle offs and the first meet Nov 10th at The Harold Nichols Open in Ames. We will know for sure by then won't we!

Tsirtsis cannot wrestle 133 this season.

Update:

Tsirtsis is in the semi's vs lightener at 132 this afternoon.

Tsirtis can wrestle 133# this year if he certifies and if Brands allows him to wrestle. Note Tsirtsis is in Brand's Dog House for a 3rd offense of drinking related arrests. Thus lies the problem!

If he re-certifies, that's one thing, but as of today, he cannot go 133 this season. Trust me on this.

Would be curious how the Lightner match wound up....I know it isn't the main point of the thread, but....keep us posted Tsirtsis faired in the tourney.
