Lots has gone on in the past few days and will continue to happen as the early signing day is upon us. Here is a brief recap of some recent commitments:
Columbia-Got 2 tough kids from California. Tyler Sheridan and Stephen West. Both are California placers who have had sucess wrestling freestyle. Also the Lions will get Robert Dyar who recently won the Super 32 and has placed in both styles at Fargo as well as folkstyle at NHSCA Jr's. The only problem is that most of his sucess has come at 103/112, if Dyar can grow into 125 he will be a huge steal for the Lions.
Cornell-Continues to get solid recruits. This time it is 2x Colorado state champ Stryker Lane. He will wrestle at heavyweight for the Big Red.
Fullerton-Gets 2x California placewinner Johan Cruz, projected 141lber.
Indiana-Picks up a NY state champ Ryan LeBlanc. Ryan is also a NHSCA Jr. All-American and projects as a 165. He was named the #77 recruit overall by Intermat.
Ohio-Has signed Kyle Lang a 3x Ohio placewinner. Lang has placed at NHSCA's, Fargo, the Ironman and the Beast. He is the younger brother of Northwestern 2x AA, Ryan Lang.
Purdue-Keeps Indiana State Champ Christopher Quiroga in-state. Quiroga has placed the past two seasons at NHSCA So/Jr's and is another tough lightweight who will make his way into the Boilermaker room.
Virginia Tech-Continues to pile up the recruits, this time 4X Alabama State Champ Hayden Countryman. Also committing to the Hokies is 2x Missouri State Finalist Cody Tyler and a former wrestler of Coach Dresser's in Christiansburg 2x VA State Champ Andrew Clement.
Lastly, it looks as if Oklahoma State will add Albert White, a JUCO national champ in 2008, and one of the best recruits to come out of high school in 2007. What a class Coach John Smith has assembled!
Also, I'm sure we've all read rumors about Trent Weatherman, the last of Intermat's top 10 recruits to commit. Which Iowa school has he picked? We'll see....
As always these young men have been added to their respective teams recruiting page.
