2013-14 D1CW SoCon Wrestler of the Year: Turtogtokh Luvsandorj (The Citadel) The all-time wins leader (134) at The Citadel, Turtogtokh Luvsandorj, became the schools fourth All-American in program history with his 6th place finish at the 2014 NCAA Championships. Luvsandorj finished his career as a four-time SoCon Finalist and two-time Champion. In order to get onto the podium, Luvsandorj needed to take out the #6 (Corey Mock), #7 (Pierce Harger), #9 (Joe Booth) seeds. The wins over Mock and Booth, avenged losses earlier in the season.
2013-14 D1CW SoCon Coach of the Year: Rob Hjerling (The Citadel) For the second consecutive season Rob Hjerling has been named D1CW's SoCon Coach of the Year. It was the second year in a row where at least one Bulldog grappler earned All-American honors, a program first. The five wrestlers that Hjerling sent to NCAA's tied a program high. His 149lber Matt Frisch pulled one of the biggest upsets of the tournament with his opening round defeat of the #2 seed Chris Dardanes of Minnesota.
2013-14 D1CW Freshman of the Year: Dylan Cottrell (Appalachian State) Dylan Cottrell's 26-1 record prior to the NCAA Championships earned him a #12 seed in the event. His only regular season loss came to the eventual NCAA Champion Jason Tsirtsis of Northwestern. In order to win his first SoCon Championship, Cottrell needed to defeat Davidson's Kevin Birmingham, one of his five wins over NCAA qualifiers.
