You expect them or at least feel strongly that they will or should be this year.
Not necessarily darkhorses, but can be. More along the idea of a wrestler who you think should have already have been an All American but because of factors that may be hasn't yet.
Here's my list
Rollie Peterkin Junior Penn - As good of a wrestler as he is and his attitude to win, I see no reason why he won't be an AA this year.
Steve Bell Junior Maryland - Very impressive at last years NCAA's with wins over Tyler McCormick and Andrae Hernandez. Also impressive at the ACC's as well. Look for him to only get better and better.
Zach Baily Sophomore Oklahoma - Inconsistant yet capable of beating anyone at his weight. Fun wrestler to watch, hyper and flamboyant in style. See him in the 7th-8th place match at the end of the season.
Will Rowe Senior Oklahoma - As many big wins as he's had, I'm hoping not to end up labling him as the "Dan Marino of Wrestling". Get er done Rowe!
Jake Patacsil Senior Purdue - See above comment
Tyler Sherfey Senior Boise State - Reminds me so much of former teammate Scott Jorgenson in that he was "right there" every year and I'm hoping so bad that his fate will turn out more fortunate than what Jorgenson's did. Sherfey has been within litteraly seconds of achieving the dream of being an All American, and as someone who admires someone who puts a lot of time, hard work, dedication, heart and soul into something, I'm hoping to see the big pay off for this senior in the end.
Michael Chandler Senior Missouri - Along with Sherfey he's someone I hope to see the hard work pay off for. People often give me Hell for being a little biased towards Seniors, which I'll admit at times I am. I'm especially biased towards seniors in which I've know have put a lot of time and effort into the sport and sacrificed a lot of their other parts of life towards the dream of being an All American. A lot of people get exited to see a true freshman place at Nationals, and I too am one of those people. I hope to see Quinton Wright do it this year, as I'm a big fan of his(if he wrestles this season). However, I get just as much satasfaction, if not more watching someone who has busted thier a$$ for 5 years, finally see that all the hard work and all of the risk involved was worth it. I hope to see that with Chandler and other seniors this year.
Ryan Morningstar Junior Iowa - Proved to me at last year's NCAA's that he is every bit as good as anyone else, now it's time to prove it to everybody else, Especially the Iowa fans who doubt him.
Trevor Stewart Senior Central Michigan - Time to get er done
Roger Smith-Bergsrud Senior Illinois - A bit of a disappointing season last year, I hope to see him go into this year and just have fun. I think if he does that, he'll wrestle better. He seemed awful tense and conservative last season, as in comparisson to his sophomore season. His sophomore year he just seemed to go out there with a "got nothing to lose, gonna take it too you 100%" attitude. I hope to see that in his final year as an Illini.
Duke Burk Junior Iowa State - I think with the coaching change and new workout partners, it's almost inevitable.
Michael Letts Junior Maryland - It'll make Terrapin happy on the other boards, and I like to see him happy.
Doug UmbehauerSenior Rider - Same description as for Sherfey and Chandler
Rocco Caponi Senior Virginia - Cause his name sounds like something out of a Mafia Movie, how cool is that? I hope he wrestles Louis Caputo this year at the NCAA's or elsewhere. It'd sound like Mob affair. Caputo Vs Caponi
Trevor Brandvold Junior Wisconsin - Herbst beating on him this year in the room will get him on the award stand.
Ryan Goodman Senior North Carolina State - Same description as Chandler, Shefey and Umbehauer.
Andrew Anderson Senior Northern Iowa - He has the tools and ability, just needs the little extra "umph" as they call it to get over the top.
Scott Steele Senior Navy - Hell, He'll win the whole thing, or take 3rd at worst.
Dustin Rogers Senior West Virginia - He's been around forever, make AA!
Jamil Porter Senior Kent State - As big and strong as he is, I don't see him leaving St. Louis without a medal this year.
Rashard Goff Senior Cleveland State - Watching him his freshman year, I said to myself, "this guy will be an All American before he gets out of college". Don't let me down Goff!
d**n I follow this sport too closely, at first I thought I was only going to have a few names for this list.
