If Jayson continues and doesn't win Hodge He will have been cheated. I originally thought Gavin or Metcalf but he has won all but 4 matches with bonus. Domination is the key word and pins is the second criterion. Some are making the case it should go to a senior or a more difficult weight. If you ever talked to Mr. Hodge you would know he doesn't make those distinctions. Very lfew gray areas there

If metcalf rolls through nat'ls with a convincing win over schlatter, i think he gets the hodge. 149 is ridiculous this year, and he has been dominating. Ness has also, but if he stops his domination at nationals and has a few squeakers, it will be tough to say. He still has to beat Donahoe yet, among others. They both would be worthy receipients.

Ness beat Donahoe by a shoelace, it was a one point match if i recall correctly, whereas Metcalf majored Lang

Ness will still have to beat him again, Donahoe knows when to peak as we saw last year. Ness will have to do it again.

BTW what a surprise. Uni, JFS, Willyman and Vais coming out for the Hawks. I am more inclined toward the big 10 splitting. There are just too many talents there. I asked on another thread if there were a pre set bracket for D1 tournament sort of a plug and play? So far no one has answered. anyone on here know the answer? I am curious about the separation issue and how it is handled.

What do you mean by the Big Ten splitting. One team will win the championship. The Big Ten is the most powerfull conference in the nation in wrestling. This I admit. ( BTW I am for Iowa State, and we have our own troubles advancing through the Big 12-5, Ha!) If Minnesota can get their horses ready then they win. But facts are facts. Iowa is wrestling very strong right now. If Perry can not come back from his injury, then Iowa has problems.

does anyone think that minnesota can beat Iowa if they have a healthy schlatter and we have a healthy Perry?

I think Minnesota has the best chance out of any of the other teams But it is up to the upper weights to step it up Stafatowitch and drestech have a good chance of being all americans if they can do that and the rest of the guys come through theyll have a good shot at beating the hawk eyes. Ness can win it or be in the finals Reiter has to step it up to and finish at least third Rivera also has a chance of being in the finals even though he did lose to Leclere it wont happen again. I dont know how good Dustin will wrestle with so much time off and 149s is one of the hardest weights this year C.P has had 2 very close losses but thats another tough weight class i dont what will happen there maybe 3rd Kish is struggling with his injury too. I think Minnesota can get by Iowa at the Big 10s but The NCAA tournament will be a whole different story we'll have to wait and see till then. We all know what happend last year with Minnesota

Yeah, I came out for the hawks, have you watched them wrestle? Have you seen why they have so many nationally ranked guys? Have you seen how brent has dominated everyone? Me too.
