yeah, 1st cousin. My son is 17 and somewhere in between myself and Mick in ability. LOL I won a state title in High School, he has been on 6 state title winners including his sophomore yr (last yr) in high school. He also went to state as a sophomore at 160 (another thing I never accomplished). My goal is for him to get his college education paid for, his is to be the next Derek Jeter. His defense is already there, now all he has to do is hit the curve at the next level and he should get a shot at the next level. Only 1 in a million makes it that far, I'm proud of him no matter what.

I guess i didnt realize that OSU wasnt coming my bad. I can sympathize with John though, Im a UNI student, love having it up here but i wouldnt want to come up every single year, too bad it cant be in a central location. Not to toot the Iowa horn again but the Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines wouldnt be bad, especially if they could run mats in Wells Fargo and in the old Veterans Memorial Auditorium arcoss the street. other places could include Kemper in KC, somewhere in St. Louis, Chicago, Michigan, Denver

Kev
I went to college to play baseball and when I got there my problem wasn't necessarily with the curves it was with change ups. I rarely faced anyone in HS that could throw a half decent change. Gotta be able to hit at that level, I was very, very good with the glove, but no one wants light hitting 3rd baseman. My coach's philosophy (and many others) was "If you hit we'll find a spot for you".

He can hit it a long way. At the LLWS 14-under he hit a ball the broke the light in left center field (ala the Natural). I never hit one that far, even as a grown man. I just cant predict if he can hit the other pitches on the next level, curve, slider, change. It is a whole new animal every level you jump. He has the athletic ability, just has to keep on performing.

The Mat . com puts an article out about the medical problems with wrestling. Great, every mother will say, no , son, its dangerous. Great PR yup. Health problem with wrestling. Typical respect for the oldest sport in the world.
