Rumors are that Connor Medbery of Wisconsin will be the opponent for Ty Walz at heavyweight. I'm very eager to see this matchup. Medbery got the best of Walz a few years ago, but Walz has been much improved since then.

Are there any "potential" new rules or fun rules in place for this year's All Star Match?

It appears the rumors I heard were true, Connor Medbery and teammate Isaac Jordan were announced as participants today at 165 and 285, respectively.
I like how both of these matchups are out of conference opponents, and matches that otherwise may not take place (though VT and Wisconsin are both in Las Vegas)

Seems like it is getting harder for great match ups....too many variables with some schools not letting the guys wrestle. I love the event but some weights may not have AAs in it.

Yeah some of the top programs choose not to participate. I understand where they're coming from, in terms of doing whats best for your team, but it would make it better for the fans. Since it's a true exhibition I'd love to see guys bump up or wrestle at catchweights to get fun matchups.
