2010's Recruiting Rewind has been posted. For those not familiar with it, I have listed my top 50 recruits from the Class of 2010 (which were posted in Summer 2010) and posted high school achievements for the top 20. Then I have come up with a fairly easy to understand point system, in which to grade the collegiate career, based on accomplishments at their respective conference tournament, as well as NCAA's. The 2009 Class came out a little fluky last year when 4x NCAA Champ Kyle Dake was re-ranked as the #3 overall recruit from the class. This is because the system is very Big Ten heavy, which generally makes sense. Without further...here it is. I'll have more info later today about how the Class compares to others and my usual dose of useless (but fun) information.... www.d1collegewrestling.net/Recruiting_2010.html

Unless I missed something, shouldn't Pierce Harger be up here? 8th at NCAA's with 3 other qualifications (for 11 points), and four placements at Big 10's (for 12 points). 23 points would put him at 25th

Who's the most overachieving, under-recruited wrestler of the HS classes from 2005-2010? I believe Jesse Delgado wasn't even on InterMat's Top 100 recruits in 2010, and he was quite low (75!) on this one too. He came out as a 3x All-American and 2x NCAA Champ! I think those credentials might put him as one of the fore-runners. It'd be interesting to see a list of maybe the top 25 steals--for a lack of better words.
A formula we can use off the top of my head is taking their HS rank and subtracting it from their college rank (maybe not the best way to approach it).
For instance: Delgado was #75 in the HS c/o 2010 but ended up #4 in college c/o 2015: That would give him a whopping 71 points!
Somebody like Logan Stieber who was the #1 recruit ended up being the #1 guy in the college c/o 2015. That would give him 0 points (which is expected!). Logan Stieber was no steal! He was expected to achieve greatness, which he did. As stated before, we're looking for the best "steals". So it'd make sense to leave guys like Stieber, Ruth, Dake and Taylor off this list. Using this system would likely leave anyone who was a top 30 or so recruit off the list--which makes sense IMO.
Here are some other steals to look at: Chris Dardanes was #81 in HS, and he ended up #11 after college: 70 points!
Scott Schiller was #78, ended up #12: 66 points!
Perhaps this system would also indicate which programs are great at developing their recruits (Minnesota?)!
A question I found myself pondering over was what to do with guys who weren't even ranked at all such as Tyler Wilps. I'm guessing it'd be fair to give them (and anyone else above 100) a base highschool score of 100.
That would leave Tyler Wilps (#20 in 2015) with 80 points! A guy who wasn't even on many school's radars ended up being a 2x All-American and NCAA Finalist--perhaps the biggest steal of 2010?
Stanford's Nick Amuchastegu was unranked in the C/o 2007 and ended up #5: 95 points!
Jordan Burroughs was 94 and ended up #1: 93 points!
