D1CW 2014-15 Big 12 Wrestler of the Year: Alex Dieringer (Oklahoma State) A move up to 165 did not phase 2014 NCAA Champion Alex Dieringer, as he turned in his first undefeated season and captured his second NCAA Title. Only five of his 33 wins came via regular decision. In those 28 bonus point wins he had 11 falls, 4 tech falls and 13 major decisions. Prior to the NCAA Championships Dieringer won his second Southern Scuffle Championship and third Big 12 Title. In three seasons wrestling for the Cowboys Alex has accumulated a 100-4 career record. He is the fourth consecutive OSU wrestler to win D1CW's Big 12 Wrestler of the Year.
D1CW 2014-15 Big 12 Coach of the Year: John Smith (Oklahoma State) For the third consecutive season and fourth time in five years John Smith has been named D1CW's Big 12 Coach of the Year. The Cowboys finished 7th in the nation after winning a third straight Big 12 Championship. Four OSU wrestlers were All-American's, three first timers to go along with NCAA Champion Alex Dieringer. Seven of the ten Cowboy wrestlers brought home Big 12 Championships.
D1CW 2014-15 Big 12 Freshman of the Year: Zeke Moisey (West Virginia) The breakout performance at the NCAA Championships belonged to West Virginia's unseeded Freshman Zeke Moisey, who defeated the eventual 4th, 5th and 7th place finishers en route to his appearance in the NCAA Finals. Moisey's :52 fall over Iowa's Thomas Gilman in the NCAA Semi-Finals will go down as one of the most memorable moments of the entire tournament. Zeke is the first unseeded wrestler to make it to the NCAA Finals since 2003. He is the first Mountaineer wrestler to earn any of D1CW's awards in either the Big 12 or EWL.
