D1CW's 2014-15 ACC Wrestler of the Year: Nick Gwiazdowski (NC State) A 35-0 season and 2nd NCAA title was enough for Nick Gwiazdowski to also be named D1CW's ACC Wrestler of the Year for the second time. He is the first Wolfpack wrestler to win multiple NCAA titles and only the third ACC wrestler to win NCAA Championships in consecutive seasons. In the 2014-15 season Nick racked up bonus points in 24 of his 35 wins. He will enter the 2015-16 season with the nation's longest current winning streak, with 55 matches.
D1CW's 2014-15 ACC Coach of the Year: Kevin Dresser (Virginia Tech) The Virginia Tech Hokies tied a school record by placing four wrestlers on the podium as All-Americans (Devin Carter, Nick Brascetta, Zack Epperly and Ty Walz) at the 2015 NCAA Championships. They also finished in the top ten for a third consecutive season and their 56 points scored at the NCAA Championships is a school record. Virginia Tech finished undefeated in ACC dual action and even registered a victory over eventual NCAA Champion Ohio State. This is the fourth consecutive season that Kevin Dresser has been named the ACC Coach of the Year by D1CW.
D1CW's 2014-15 ACC Freshman of the Year: Kevin Jack (NC State) One of the surprises of the NCAA Championships was unseeded Kevin Jack's run to 5th place in the nation. He knocked off the #5, #12 and #4 seeds to reach the NCAA Semi-Finals and then beat the #11 seed for 5th. Jack was initially redshirting this season and did not even make it into the Wolfpack starting lineup until February 14th. His 31 wins were a record for NC State Freshman.
