I have been following NCAA Division I wrestling since the 2001-2002 season. During this time, I kept up with it via the internet and I would record how wrestlers did in their conference tournaments and at the NCAA tournament. I have records of conference tournaments and the NCAA's 2002-2005. From 2006 through 2008 I got busy or lazy or whatever you want to call it and I kept no records. Then starting in the 2008-2009 NCAA wrestling season, I began recording everything. All major duel meet matches and all tournaments from the UNI Open to the NCAA's.
In the wrestling world we seem to only pay attention to how wrestlers do at the NCAA tournament, and even then if they aren't winning National championships we tend to forget how they placed. I think it'd be cool to have a section on the website to list all of the accomplishments of wrestlers throughout their careers. Starting with wrestlers whose redshirt or freshman year was in the 2008-2009 season I could put together a list and then give it to you.
For Example
Jason Welch Northwestern
Michigan State Open: 2nd(FR)
Midlands: 5th(FR)-1st(JR) - 1st(SR)
Keystone: 2nd(SO)-1st(SR)
BIG 10: 2nd(FR)-3rd(SO)-2nd(JR)-1st(SR)
NCAA: DNP(FR)-6th(SO)-4th(JR)-2nd(SR)
Or it could be written like this
Jason Welch Northwestern
Freshman Season (09') : 2nd @ MSU Open - 5th @ Midlands - 2nd @ BIG 10 - DNP @ NCAA
Sophomore Season (11'): 2nd @ Keystone - 3rd @ BIG 10 - 6th @ NCAA
Junior Season (12'): 1st @ Midlands - 2nd @ BIG 10 - 4th @ NCAA
Senior Season (13'): 1st @ Keystone - 1st @ Midlands - 1st @ BIG 10 - 2nd @ NCAA
What do you think of this idea?
