With it being Iowa/Iowa State week I'm going to have a few matches today and tomorrow that feature prominent wrestlers from the two schools. First, we'll start with a great comeback from a guy with one of the biggest gas tanks in recent memory, Montell Marion. He comes back from a 5-2 deficit, while Jimmy Kennedy has the riding time advantage. If you pay attention at the end of the video you'll notice that Montell does not appear to know that he won until told by his corner. www.youtube.com/watch?v=OidRPHE9haY

And now High School Sophomore Tony Ramos winning his first State Title at 112lbs. It's worth watching alone for the hairdo! Worth noting that his opponent Adam Sheley would go on to become a DIII National Champion for Wisconsin LaCrosse. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ygqi-aLoSWw&feature=youtu.be

More on the Iowa/Iowa State theme...2x NCAA Champ and Olympic Gold Medalist Jake Varner's California State Final from 2005, his Senior Season. With this fall he became the first wrestler in California history to pin all six of his opponents at the State Tournament. I apologize if I spelled his opponent Arman Kucukkoseoglu's name incorrectly. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y-UfshZRGDM

It's hard for me to believe that it was nearly 12 years ago when this took place! I can remember when Lewis pulled Moore back into a cradle and thinking to myself, "He didn't come here to lose today" and he most certainly didn't.

For Thanksgiving how about a wild one from the 2001 NCAA Semi Finals between Doug Schwab and Sean Gray. Early on Gray registers a few sweet TD's, but Schwab battles back. www.youtube.com/watch?v=2zBqS4kmDEo

Exciting, aggressive, and was never lazy on the mat. Shame his career came to an end the way it did, but the guy to knock him out of the 2002 NCAA's was just as exciting and aggressive of a wrestler as he was. Robert Sessley of Ohio State brings back a lot of good memories as well.
