With the conclusion of the 2013-14 Season, I thought I would let everyone in on some changes that will be occurring with the D1CW website. I have very mixed feeling about this because, in general the website has been relatively unchanged since its inception in the summer of 2007. I have been approached on a couple of occasions in the past to merge websites or partner up, but have resisted because I didn't want the site to go away or change.
The vision I have for the website is something more historically based. Going forward from this point, the Individual Results page, and the NCAA/Conference Rankings will be going away. The maintenance of these pages takes up about 80-90% of the time that I spend on the website and I'm unable to do other projects because I am just "trying to keep up" (additionally I work about 50 hours a week in a non-wrestling related job). When I started the website in 2007-08 I felt like there was a lack of coverage of collegiate wrestling and some outlets had inaccurate or illogical rankings. Since then, there have been other websites who have stepped up and do their homework with rankings, so I don't think there is too much of a loss for the fans of rankings.
In the next few months there will be a lot of pages that will be added and subtracted, so please bare with me as this transition happens. This message board will be staying the same, so if you have anything you'd like to discuss, please do so...
Last but certainly not least, I have a gigantic long-term project which is just beyond the planning stages. I'm shooting for having this ready around the time of next NCAA's. I don't want to reveal too much about this right now, but I think it will be very cool especially for the die-hard wrestling nuts/nerds like myself. This is what I will be primarily focusing on until its completion. Even though this will be my number one priority, I will be putting out recruiting rankings/rewind and other staples of the website.
Feel free to ask any questions..
