Schmersahl, the projected starter this season for ASU at 141 lbs, gets beat SOUNDLY by a True Freshman (10-3). And a True Freshman who never won a H.S. State championship either (a two time State runner-up in H.S.) Preston McCalmon beats Joel Smith and no sign of Nathan Hoffer at 149 lbs. Another True Freshman, Codey Combs, at 157 lbs, soundly beats Rush Hall. And at 184 lbs Radford beats Jake Meredith. That surprises me quite a bit actually. No matches at 133 lbs or 197 lbs??

^^^I think Pavlou's move to 141 is incredibly interesting. Besides Pavlou at that weight, Campbell plans to have Mark Hartenstine down at 141 this season and The Citadel has one of the best young grapplers in the south at that weight in Mongolian Ugi Undrakhbayar. The 141-pound weight class is now arguably the deepest weight in the SoCon for the coming season.
